FAUN feat. Lindy-Fay Hella - Galdra (Single Review)

Pagan folk band Faun dropped a new single yesterday titled "Galdra" featuring Lindy-Fay Hella from the band Wardruna. This one is off of their upcoming "PAGAN" album that's set to come out in April of next year. This song is fantastic! It's so powerful and beautiful. The title I believe is derived from the old Norse word "Galdr" meaning spell or incantation, and you can definitely feel that. Between the chanting and the instruments and such, there's so much energy, it's electric. This song is incredible. One thing that makes this band stand out amongst other pagan and neofolk groups is their inclusion of an electronic beat in some parts of the song, which is an interesting touch that I really like. The video for this one is gorgeous. Misty mountains, mossy forests, the band playing in a field with a village in the distance, it's wonderful and fits the song incredibly well. I enjoyed this a lot, and I definitely recommend checking it out. ~Gangis
