KoRn - Requiem Mass (Livestream Review)
We've got an organ and a church choir. What on earth is going on here? When they said mass, I didn't realize literally a prayer and church choir. Pretty and well done I guess, but not what I'm here for... But luckily that didn't last too long and the band came out.
Holy shit this is like no performance of theirs before. They jumped into an acoustic version of a few of their older songs with some choir backing and some horned instruments. It's so cool! Totally not what I expected, but it's really good! Very different.
Andddd there we go. They plugged it in and played "Start The Healing". And uhhh I'm a little underwhelmed. This song is actually better in the studio... Then they played "Forgotten", which definitely sounded better than "Start The Healing". But I can't blame JDevil, I'm sure this was a very emotional performance for him.
HOLY SHIT WE GOT A COUPLE NEW SONGS!!!! I dunno what's up with these black metal type growls he's doing, it sounds really cool, but I certainly did not expect it. We even got another signature nonsensical JDevil bit similar to that of "Freak On A Leash". If you're a KoRn fan, you know exactly what I'm talking about. By the end of that song, I was standing up with my horns in the air. I am completely blown away. The band then paid their respects at a coffin to all those we have lost, and exited out through the crowd.
Wowwww this was so powerful. I'm sure this is definitely a step in the process for the band members who have all lost people and had a really rough go of it the past couple years. Time for them to all "Start The Healing". I am totally in love with these new songs. I can't wait to hear the rest of the new album "Requiem", which drops in a few minutes! ~Gangis
